他们把银子给石匠、木匠，把粮食、酒、油给西顿人、推罗人，好将香柏树从黎巴嫩浮海运到约帕，是照波斯王居鲁士所允准他们的。

殿是用山中凿成的石头建的，所以建殿的时候，锤子、斧子和别样铁器的响声都没有听见。

这样，你们不再是外人或客旅，是与圣徒同国，是上帝家里的人了，被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，而基督耶稣自己为房角石，靠着他整座房子连接得紧凑，渐渐成为在主里的圣殿。你们也靠他同被建造，成为上帝藉着圣灵居住的所在。

那时，陌生人要伺候、牧放你们的羊群；外邦人必为你们耕种田地，修整你们的葡萄园。但你们要称为“耶和华的祭司”，称作“我们上帝的仆人”。你们必享用列国的财物，必承受他们的财富。

至于所有剩下的百姓，不属以色列的赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，那些以色列人在当地不能灭尽的人，所罗门征召他们剩下的后代服劳役，直到今日。

建造这一切所用的石头都是贵重的，按着尺寸凿成，用锯子里外锯齐；从根基直到房檐，从外头直到大院，都是如此。根基是贵重的大石头，有长十肘的，有长八肘的；上面有香柏木和按着尺寸凿成的贵重石头。大院周围有凿成的石头三层、香柏木板一层，都照耶和华殿的内院和殿的走廊的样式。
