他們把銀子給石匠、木匠，把糧食、酒、油給西頓人、推羅人，好將香柏樹從黎巴嫩浮海運到約帕，是照波斯王居魯士所允准他們的。

殿是用山中鑿成的石頭建的，所以建殿的時候，鎚子、斧子和別樣鐵器的響聲都沒有聽見。

這樣，你們不再是外人或客旅，是與聖徒同國，是神家裏的人了，被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，而基督耶穌自己為房角石，靠着他整座房子連接得緊湊，漸漸成為在主裏的聖殿。你們也靠他同被建造，成為神藉着聖靈居住的所在。

那時，陌生人要伺候、牧放你們的羊羣；外邦人必為你們耕種田地，修整你們的葡萄園。但你們要稱為「耶和華的祭司」，稱作「我們神的僕人」。你們必享用列國的財物，必承受他們的財富。

至於所有剩下的百姓，不屬以色列的赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，那些以色列人在當地不能滅盡的人，所羅門徵召他們剩下的後代服勞役，直到今日。

推羅王希蘭派使者把香柏木運到大衛那裏，又派石匠和木匠給大衛建造宮殿。

建造這一切所用的石頭都是貴重的，按着尺寸鑿成，用鋸子裏外鋸齊；從根基直到房檐，從外頭直到大院，都是如此。根基是貴重的大石頭，有長十肘的，有長八肘的；上面有香柏木和按着尺寸鑿成的貴重石頭。大院周圍有鑿成的石頭三層、香柏木板一層，都照耶和華殿的內院和殿的走廊的樣式。
