So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me word so that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”

David did not take the number of the men twenty years old or less, because the Lord had promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars in the sky.Joab son of Zeruiah began to count the men but did not finish. God’s wrath came on Israel on account of this numbering, and the number was not entered in the book of the annals of King David. (niv)

So the Lord sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died. (niv)

Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. (niv)

And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the Lord. (niv)

and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. Then all Israel from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came together as one and assembled before the Lord in Mizpah. (niv)

They decided to send a proclamation throughout Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, calling the people to come to Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel. It had not been celebrated in large numbers according to what was written. (niv)

“ So I advise you: Let all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba— as numerous as the sand on the seashore— be gathered to you, with you yourself leading them into battle. (niv)

So the king said to Joab and the army commanders with him,“ Go throughout the tribes of Israel from Dan to Beersheba and enroll the fighting men, so that I may know how many there are.”But Joab replied to the king,“ May the Lord your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?”The king’s word, however, overruled Joab and the army commanders; so they left the presence of the king to enroll the fighting men of Israel. During Solomon’s lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, everyone under their own vine and under their own fig tree. (niv)
