明年便哈達核亞蘭之眾、往亞弗、與以色列族戰。

大闢既至馬哈念、亞捫族、喇巴邑人、拿轄子說比、與羅底巴人、亞米利子馬吉、暨基列之羅結林人、巴西來咸至、

以利沙死而葬。明年摩押之軍侵斯土、

故耶和華曰、時日將至、我必使戰鬥之聲、聞於亞捫族之喇巴邑、城垣變為瓦礫、居民盡遭焚燬、以色列族、昔為敵所虜、後轉虜其敵。埃邑傾圮、希實本人號呼、喇巴眾女、俱衣衰絰、躑躅於藩籬間、不勝哭泣、蓋密君見攘、其祭司牧伯俱為俘囚。

燃火製器之人、我所造、用器傷人之人、亦我所造、

先知覲以色列王曰、當益爾軍旅、謹爾作為、明年亞蘭王必復至、以攻擊爾。

我曰主歟、將至何時、曰、迨乎城垣傾圮、土地荒蕪、室廬寂寞、無人居之、

約押攻亞捫族之喇巴、將取京都、遣使至大闢曰、我攻喇巴、絕其邑中水道。今爾可集餘民、建營攻擊、以陷其城、恐我獲勝、功歸於我。大闢集民往喇巴、攻城拔之。獲敵王之冕、重千五百兩、鑄以兼金、飾以寶石、人置於大闢首。邑中貨財、獲之甚多。驅民出邑、或解以鋸、或擊以打禾之鐵具、或傷以斧斤、或使經陶瓦之所。大闢待亞捫族諸城俱若此、然後率眾凱旋、至耶路撒冷。

約押攻城、知敵勁旅之所在、而使烏利亞與戰、邑眾悉出以戰約押、大闢臣僕殞沒者數人、赫人烏利亞亦死。約押遣人、以戰事告大闢、囑使者曰、汝以戰事告王、既畢其言、如王怒曰、戰鬥之際、何逼近城垣、豈不知敵將自城射我乎。昔耶魯庇設子亞庇米力、戰於提拜士、誰擊之死、非婦自墻擲磨石之上層、中之而喪亡乎。汝既知此、何近於城。則對曰、王之臣僕赫人烏利亞亦死。使者至、以約押言告大闢、使者曰、敵勝於我、出野與我相角、我復追襲、逼近邑門、矢人自城上射爾臣僕、數人殞亡、王之臣僕赫人烏利亞亦死。大闢謂使者曰、汝必告約押曰、勿以此為憂、亡於刃者、或彼或此、爾當攻城、愈奮其力、期以必陷、爾以是言勵其銳志。
