Later Hezron had sexual relations with the daughter of Makir, the father of Gilead.( He had married her when he was sixty years old.) She bore him Segub.

The daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The names of the daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah. They came forward (niv)

and saw the third generation of Ephraim’s children. Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph’s knees. (niv)

The descendants of Manasseh: through Makir, the Makirite clan( Makir was the father of Gilead); through Gilead, the Gileadite clan. (niv)

And I gave Gilead to Makir. (niv)

The descendants of Makir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it and drove out the Amorites who were there.So Moses gave Gilead to the Makirites, the descendants of Manasseh, and they settled there. (niv)
