I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.

神曾對哪一個天使說過：“你是我的兒子，我今日生了你”呢？或者說：“我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子”呢？

他要為我建造殿宇，我必堅立他的王位，直到永遠。

你們要側耳而聽，要到我這裡來；你們要聽，就可以存活；我必與你們立永遠的約，就是應許賜給大衛的那確實的慈愛。

撒母耳就對他說：“今天耶和華把以色列國從你身上撕裂，賜給比你更好的人。

受膏者說：“我要宣告耶和華的諭旨：耶和華對我說：‘你是我的兒子，我今日生了你。

你們要用嘴親吻子，否則他一發怒，你們就在路上滅亡，因為他的怒氣快要發作。凡是投靠他的，都是有福的。

沒有求問耶和華，所以耶和華把他殺死了，把國位轉給耶西的兒子大衛。

“我要作你們的父親，你們要作我的兒女。這是全能的主說的。”

然而，為了你父親大衛的緣故，我不會在你有生之日作這事，我要從你兒子的手中把國奪去。只是我不把整個國家奪去，為了我的僕人大衛的緣故，又為了我所揀選的耶路撒冷的緣故，我要給你的兒子留下一個支派。”

他必呼叫我，說：‘你是我的父、我的神、拯救我的磐石。’我也要立他為長子，為世上最高的君王。我要永遠保持我對他的慈愛，我和他所立的約必堅立。我要使他的後裔存到永遠，使他的王位好像天一樣長久。如果他的子孫離棄我的律法，不照著我的典章而行；如果他們違背我的律例，不遵守我的誡命，我就用杖責罰他們的過犯，用鞭責罰他們的罪孽。但我必不把我的慈愛從他身上收回，也必不背棄我的信實。我必不違背我的約，也不改變我口中所出的話。我斷然指著自己的聖潔起誓，說：‘我決不向大衛說謊。他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必像太陽長存，又像月亮永遠堅立，作天上確實的見證。’”（細拉）

我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子，他若是犯了罪，我要用人的刑杖、用世人的鞭子糾正他。但我的慈愛必不離開他，像離開在你面前的掃羅一樣。你的家和你的王國，也必在我(按照《馬索拉文本》，「我」作「你」；現參照其他抄本及古譯本翻譯)的面前永遠堅定，你的王位也必永遠堅立。’”

至於所羅門的兒子，我要給他一個支派，好使我的僕人大衛在我所揀選立我名的城耶路撒冷，在我面前常常有燈光。

父愛子，已經把萬有交在他手裡。

有聲音從雲彩裡出來，說：“這是我的兒子，我所揀選的（“這是我的兒子，我所揀選的”有些抄本作“這是我的愛子”），你們要聽從他！”

他將要被尊為大，稱為至高者的兒子，主神要把他祖大衛的王位賜給他，
