When David had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

David moved into his palace. Then he spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said,“ Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

Now when David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”

And it came about, when David lived in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD[ remaineth] under curtains.

When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”

David built houses for himself in the city of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.

From the time I brought Israel out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have moved from one tent site to another, and from one tabernacle location to another.

He found favor in God’s sight and asked that he might provide a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

And with Solomon, the king has sent the priest Zadok, the prophet Nathan, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have had him ride on the king’s mule.

and it was announced to the king,“ The prophet Nathan is here.” He came into the king’s presence and paid homage to him with his face to the ground.

They brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent David had pitched for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings in the LORD’s presence.

King Hiram of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters to build a palace for him.

When the king had settled into his palace and the LORD had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,the king said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains.”So Nathan told the king,“ Go and do all that is on your mind, for the LORD is with you.”But that night the word of the LORD came to Nathan:“ Go to my servant David and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: Are you to build me a house to dwell in?From the time I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have been moving around with a tent as my dwelling.In all my journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever spoken a word to one of the tribal leaders of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, asking: Why haven’t you built me a house of cedar?’“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before you. I will make a great name for you like that of the greatest on the earth.I will designate a place for my people Israel and plant them, so that they may live there and not be disturbed again. Evildoers will not continue to oppress them as they have doneever since the day I ordered judges to be over my people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ The LORD declares to you: The LORD himself will make a house for you.When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He is the one who will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and blows from mortals.But my faithful love will never leave him as it did when I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.Your house and kingdom will endure before me forever, and your throne will be established forever.’”Nathan reported all these words and this entire vision to David.Then King David went in, sat in the LORD’s presence, and said, Who am I, Lord GOD, and what is my house that you have brought me this far?What you have done so far was a little thing to you, Lord GOD, for you have also spoken about your servant’s house in the distant future. And this is a revelation for mankind, Lord GOD.What more can David say to you? You know your servant, Lord GOD.Because of your word and according to your will, you have revealed all these great things to your servant.This is why you are great, Lord GOD. There is no one like you, and there is no God besides you, as all we have heard confirms.And who is like your people Israel? God came to one nation on earth in order to redeem a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to perform for them great and awesome acts, driving out nations and their gods before your people you redeemed for yourself from Egypt.You established your people Israel to be your own people forever, and you, LORD, have become their God.Now, LORD God, fulfill the promise forever that you have made to your servant and his house. Do as you have promised,so that your name will be exalted forever, when it is said,“ The LORD of Armies is God over Israel.” The house of your servant David will be established before yousince you, LORD of Armies, God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant when you said,“ I will build a house for you.” Therefore, your servant has found the courage to pray this prayer to you.Lord GOD, you are God; your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.Now, please bless your servant’s house so that it will continue before you forever. For you, Lord GOD, have spoken, and with your blessing your servant’s house will be blessed forever.

Now David had brought the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place he had set up for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem,

My father David had his heart set on building a temple for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.However, the LORD said to my father David,“ Since it was your desire to build a temple for my name, you have done well to have this desire.Yet, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own offspring, will build the temple for my name.”

At the end of twelve months, as he was walking on the roof of the royal palace in Babylon,the king exclaimed,“ Is this not Babylon the Great that I have built to be a royal residence by my vast power and for my majestic glory?”

“ Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”

until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

So the LORD sent Nathan to David. When he arrived, he said to him: There were two men in a certain city, one rich and the other poor.

Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.Moses took the testimony and placed it in the ark, and attached the poles to the ark. He set the mercy seat on top of the ark.He brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the curtain for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.

I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and flourishing in my palace.

and he sent a message through the prophet Nathan, who named him Jedidiah, because of the LORD.

Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.

“ You expected much, but then it amounted to little. When you brought the harvest to your house, I ruined it. Why?” This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.“ Because my house still lies in ruins, while each of you is busy with his own house.
