他們又照所記載的守住棚之節；按數照例獻上日日該獻的燔祭，按日日的本分獻；

大衛和事務隊長們也將亞薩希幔耶杜頓子孫中一些人分別出來，叫他們拿琴瑟響鈸來傳神言。那些按這種事務去作工的人、其數目如下：屬亞薩兒子的；有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅、亞薩利拉、都是亞薩的兒子，在亞薩手下受指揮，亞薩則在王手下受指揮以音樂而傳神言。屬耶杜頓的：有耶杜頓的兒子基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅、瑪他提雅、六個人，都在他們父親耶杜頓手下受指揮；耶杜頓則拿琴來傳神言，稱謝讚美永恆主。屬希幔的：有希幔的兒子布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、書巴業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提、瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是為王做見異象者的，在上帝的事情上來高舉其角的：上帝賜給希幔十四個兒子、三個女兒。這些人在永恆主之殿的音樂上都在他們父親手下受指揮；他們拿響鈸琴瑟來服務於上帝的殿；至於在王手下受指揮的乃是亞薩耶杜頓希幔。

於是利未人派立了約珥的兒子希幔、和他的族弟兄中比利家的兒子亞薩、和他們的族弟兄米拉利子孫中古沙雅的兒子以探。同他們在一起的還有他們族弟兄做第二班：撒迦利雅、巴尼、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、跟守門的俄別以東和耶利。這樣、歌唱者希幔、亞薩、以探要拿銅鈸大聲作樂；撒迦利雅、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅要鼓瑟，調用高音：瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別以東、耶利、亞撒西雅要領首彈琴，調用第八度低音。基拿尼雅在音樂上做利未人的首領；他要在音樂上作教練，因為他很精通。比利家、以利加拿要給約櫃做守門的。祭司示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞、以利以謝要在上帝的櫃前吹號筒。俄別以東和耶希亞也要給約櫃做守門的。

大衛派了幾個利未人在永恆主的櫃前伺候着，來頌揚、稱謝讚美永恆主以色列的上帝。為首的是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別以東、耶利、拿琴瑟等樂器，亞薩拿響鈸、大聲作樂。祭司比拿雅和雅哈悉在上帝的約櫃前不斷地吹號筒。
