He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:

But God didn’t allow anyone to treat them badly. To keep them safe, he gave a command to kings.

Yahweh afflicted Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him,“ Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man’s wife.”

Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he is going out to the water. You shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. The Egyptians will loathe to drink water from the river.”’”

Yahweh said to Moses,“ Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him,‘ This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says:“ Let my people go, that they may serve me.For this time I will send all my plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people; that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.For now I would have stretched out my hand, and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth,because you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won’t let them go.Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now.

Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.”

God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream of the night, and said to him,“ Be careful that you don’t speak to Jacob either good or bad.”

It is in the power of my hand to hurt you, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying,‘ Be careful that you don’t speak to Jacob either good or bad.’
