上帝不容人虐遇、苟為列王所侮、譴責必加。

He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:

But God didn’t allow anyone to treat them badly. To keep them safe, he gave a command to kings.

然耶和華降厲災以譴法老、及其家室、緣納亞伯蘭妻撒勑故。

一夕上帝見夢、諭亞庇米力、曰、爾取此婦、當死、蓋人之妻也。

明日法老詣河、爾往河濱、執化蛇之杖俟法老至、告之曰、希百來族之上帝耶和華、遣我見爾、使釋其民、往詣曠野、為其役事、迄今爾未聽從。緣此耶和華命我、以杖擊河水、立變為血、使爾知彼乃耶和華。河水將臭、鱗族將亡、俾埃及人厭棄不飲。○

耶和華諭、摩西曰、夙興、立於法老前、告之曰、希百來族之上帝耶和華云、爾當釋我民、役事於我。不然、我必降災於爾、以及臣民、使爾知我於天下、無可比儗。我欲施大能、降疫癘於爾躬、及爾兆民、滅爾於斯土、亦何不可之有。然我使爾崛興、以顯我能、我名播揚於天下。爾如剛暴、禁阻我民、明日此時、必大雨雹、自埃及肇基迄今、未有若此之甚。

使吾祖亞伯拉罕之上帝、吾父以撒所畏之上帝、不祐我、汝必棄我、絕無所得、惟上帝監我操作辛勤、故前夕責爾。○

是夜、上帝見夢、諭亞蘭人拉班、曰、爾與雅各、勿以惡言相加、爾其慎之。○

我力能害爾、惟前夕爾父之上帝諭我曰、慎勿以惡言加於雅各。
