the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

He will keep the covenant he made with Abraham. He will keep the promise he made to Isaac.

the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,

This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac.

the covenant he made with Abraham, swore to Isaac,

The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.

The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

The covenant which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,

[ Even of the covenant] which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac!

stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.

I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you greatly.”

On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,“ I give this land to your offspring, from the brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River:

God also said to him: I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation, indeed an assembly of nations, will come from you, and kings will descend from you.

Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ I will give this land to your offspring.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

Brothers, I’m using a human illustration. No one sets aside or makes additions to even a human covenant that has been ratified.Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say“ and to seeds,” as though referring to many, but referring to one, and to your seed, who is Christ.And I say this: The law, which came 430 years later, does not revoke a covenant that was previously ratified by God and cancel the promise.

He has dealt mercifully with our fathers and remembered His holy covenant—the oath that He swore to our father Abraham. He has given us the privilege,

and said,“ By Myself I have sworn,” this is the Lord’s declaration:“ Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son,I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gates of their enemies.And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed My command.”

You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors, saying to Abraham, And all the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.

Yahweh was standing there beside him, saying,“ I am Yahweh, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your offspring the land that you are now sleeping on.Your offspring will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out toward the west, the east, the north, and the south. All the peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.

You found his heart faithful in Your sight, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites, and Girgashites— to give it to his descendants. You have kept Your promise, for You are righteous.

God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the Israelites: Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself:I will indeed bless you, and I will greatly multiply you.And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.For men swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute.Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath,so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.
