As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

曰、善、我與爾約、惟索一事、爾來見時、必攜掃羅女米甲至、否則毋覿我面、大衛遣使見掃羅子伊施波設曰、以我妻米甲反我、即昔我以非利士人之陽皮一百所聘者、

掃羅遣使守大衛第、待旦殺之、大衛妻米甲告大衛曰、今夕不自救、明日必見殺、米甲自牖縋之、逃而獲免、米甲取家神之像置於牀、以羊毧衾蔽其首、覆之以裯、掃羅遣使執大衛、婦曰、彼病矣、掃羅復遣其使視大衛曰、以牀舁之來、俾我殺之、使者入、見像於牀、羊毧衾蔽其首、掃羅謂米甲曰、何欺我若此、容我敵逃而獲免、米甲對曰、彼云任我去、勿使我殺爾、○

時、上帝約匱在彼、亞倫孫、以利亞撒子非尼哈、侍於其前、

以色列族離耶和華之山、歷程三日、此三日、耶和華之約匱先行、以擇安處之所、

亞倫姊女先知米利暗、手執鼗、諸女亦執鼗相從、舞蹈而出、

稱謝歡樂之聲、由是而出、我將使之繁衍、而不少減、加以尊榮、致不卑微、

則曰、昔耶和華之約匱濟約但、水絕流於其前、此石永為以色列人之誌、

夫屬血氣者、不納上帝聖神之事、以之為愚、且不能識、以其事乃由心靈而擬也、

尚未屆期、大衛與從者起、往殺非利士人二百、攜其陽皮、悉數進王、致為王壻、掃羅遂以其女米甲妻之、掃羅見耶和華偕大衛、知其女米甲亦愛之、

播鼗舞蹈頌美之、以絲與竹頌美之兮、

以此律書、置於爾上帝耶和華約匱之側、為證於爾、

哭有其時、笑有其時、哀有其時、舞有其時、

我為爾受詬詈、羞慚蔽我面兮、我於昆弟為外人、我於同胞為異族兮、為爾室之熱衷灼我、斥爾者之詬詈歸我兮、

民歸營時、以色列長老曰、耶和華今日何擊我於非利士人前、當舁耶和華約匱、自示羅至此、援我於敵手、

願其舞蹈、頌美厥名、以鼗與琴歌頌之兮、

我若狂則為上帝、若自制、則為爾曹、

必復聞歡欣喜樂之聲、新娶者與新婦之聲、亦聞人言宜稱謝萬軍之耶和華、蓋耶和華為善、慈惠永存、又聞人攜酬恩祭、入於耶和華室、因我必返斯土之俘囚、使之如初、耶和華言之矣、

或戲之曰、彼酣於新酒耳、○

爾乃以我哀哭、變為舞蹈、脫我麻衣、被以喜樂兮、

大衛居宮室時、謂先知拿單曰、我居香柏之室、而耶和華約匱乃在帳中、
