我們不敢以為自己有資格作甚麼，我們所能夠作的是出於神。

我算甚麼？我的人民又算甚麼？竟有力量這樣樂意奉獻？因為萬物都是從你而來，我們只是把從你手裡得來的，奉獻給你。

“‘第七日，要獻公牛七頭、公綿羊兩隻、一歲沒有殘疾的公羊羔十四隻；

對於滅亡的人，這是死亡的氣味叫人死；對於得救的人，這卻是生命的香氣使人活。這些事誰夠資格作呢？

然而，我得到神的幫助，直到今日還是站得穩，向尊卑老幼作見證，我所講的都是眾先知和摩西所論的將來必成的事，

這節期的七天，每天他都要為耶和華預備無殘疾的公牛七頭和公綿羊七隻作燔祭；他每天又要預備公山羊一隻作贖罪祭。

撒母耳搬來了一塊石頭，把它豎立在米斯巴和善之間，給這塊石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：“直到現在，耶和華都幫助我們。”

我要帶著燔祭進你的殿，我要向你還我的願，就是在急難的時候，我嘴唇所許的，我口裡所說的。我要把肥美的牲畜作燔祭，連同公綿羊的馨香祭獻給你，我並且要把公牛和公山羊獻上。（細拉）
