Then David said that no one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the Lord had chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister to him forever.

那时大卫说：“神的约柜，除了利未人以外，没有人可以抬，因为耶和华拣选了他们抬神的约柜，并且永远事奉他。”

那時大衛說：「除了利未人之外，無人可擡神的約櫃；因為耶和華揀選他們擡神的約櫃，且永遠事奉他。」

那時大衛說：「除了利未人之外，無人可抬上帝的約櫃，因為耶和華揀選他們抬上帝的約櫃，永遠事奉他。」

那時大衛說：「除了利未人之外，無人可抬神的約櫃，因為耶和華揀選他們抬神的約櫃，永遠事奉他。」

大衛說：「除了利未人以外，誰也不可抬上帝的約櫃，因為耶和華只揀選他們抬上帝的約櫃，永遠事奉祂。」

那時大衛說：『上帝的櫃、除了利未人之外、沒有人可以抬；因為永恆主所揀選來抬永恆主的櫃、並永遠伺候他的、乃是他們。』

大衛曰、耶和華既簡利未人舁上帝匱、永久奉事之、他人不可舁也、

大闢曰、耶和華簡利未人、舁上帝匱、供其役事、歷代勿替、自是舁匱、必以利未人。

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister before him forever.”

He said,“ Only Levites can carry the ark of God. That’s because the Lord chose them to carry his ark. He chose them to serve him forever in front of the place where his throne is.”

Then he commanded,“ No one except the Levites may carry the Ark of God. The Lord has chosen them to carry the Ark of the Lord and to serve him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one is to carry the ark of God except the Levites; for the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to serve Him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one may carry the ark of God but the Levites, for the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister before Him forever.”

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath Jehovah chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister before Him forever.”

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Then David said,“ Only the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to serve before him perpetually.

Then David said,“ No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”

At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord to stand before the Lord to minister to him and to bless in his name, to this day.

“ For thus says the Lord: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to make sacrifices forever.”The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:“ Thus says the Lord: If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night will not come at their appointed time,then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers.As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”

So the Lord said to Aaron,“ You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear iniquity connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity connected with your priesthood.And with you bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and minister to you while you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony.They shall keep guard over you and over the whole tent, but shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary or to the altar lest they, and you, die.They shall join you and keep guard over the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, and no outsider shall come near you.And you shall keep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, that there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.And behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the people of Israel. They are a gift to you, given to the Lord, to do the service of the tent of meeting.And you and your sons with you shall guard your priesthood for all that concerns the altar and that is within the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood as a gift, and any outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”Then the Lord spoke to Aaron,“ Behold, I have given you charge of the contributions made to me, all the consecrated things of the people of Israel. I have given them to you as a portion and to your sons as a perpetual due.

Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.

“ This applies to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall come to do duty in the service of the tent of meeting.And from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the duty of the service and serve no more.They minister to their brothers in the tent of meeting by keeping guard, but they shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites in assigning their duties.”

“ Take a census of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their clans and their fathers’ houses,from thirty years old up to fifty years old, all who can come on duty, to do the work in the tent of meeting.This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting: the most holy things.When the camp is to set out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it.Then they shall put on it a covering of goatskin and spread on top of that a cloth all of blue, and shall put in its poles.And over the table of the bread of the Presence they shall spread a cloth of blue and put on it the plates, the dishes for incense, the bowls, and the flagons for the drink offering; the regular show bread also shall be on it.Then they shall spread over them a cloth of scarlet and cover the same with a covering of goatskin, and shall put in its poles.And they shall take a cloth of blue and cover the lampstand for the light, with its lamps, its tongs, its trays, and all the vessels for oil with which it is supplied.And they shall put it with all its utensils in a covering of goatskin and put it on the carrying frame.And over the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue and cover it with a covering of goatskin, and shall put in its poles.And they shall take all the vessels of the service that are used in the sanctuary and put them in a cloth of blue and cover them with a covering of goatskin and put them on the carrying frame.And they shall take away the ashes from the altar and spread a purple cloth over it.And they shall put on it all the utensils of the altar, which are used for the service there, the fire pans, the forks, the shovels, and the basins, all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread on it a covering of goatskin, and shall put in its poles.And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, as the camp sets out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry these, but they must not touch the holy things, lest they die. These are the things of the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.

and commanded the people,“ As soon as you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from your place and follow it.

And you shall set the Levites before Aaron and his sons, and shall offer them as a wave offering to the Lord.“ Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the people of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.

but deal thus with them, that they may live and not die when they come near to the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint them each to his task and to his burden,but they shall not go in to look on the holy things even for a moment, lest they die.”

But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, because they were charged with the service of the holy things that had to be carried on the shoulder.

So Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them,“ Take up the ark of the covenant and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.”

And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.

And he said to the Levites who taught all Israel and who were holy to the Lord,“ Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built. You need not carry it on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel.
