大衛便派人進宮對她瑪說：「你去你哥哥暗嫩房裡為他預備食物吧。」她瑪到了哥哥暗嫩的家，暗嫩正躺在床上裝病。她拿了麵團在他面前揉麵做餅，把餅烤熟了。

大衛住在錫安的堡壘裡，並稱之為大衛城，他又從米羅興建環城圍牆。

大衛蒙上帝悅納，祈求為雅各的上帝建造一座聖殿。
