said to David,“ You will not get in here.” Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion— which is the City of David.

said to David,“ You won’t get in here.” But David captured the fort of Zion. It became known as the City of David.

The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You will not come in here.” Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

The people of Jebus taunted David, saying,“ You’ll never get in here!” But David captured the fortress of Zion, which is now called the City of David.

The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You will never get in here.” Yet David did capture the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You shall not enter here.” Nevertheless David took the mountain stronghold of Zion( that is, the city of David).

But the inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You shall not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion( that is, the City of David).

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.

The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You will never get in here.” Yet David did capture the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which[ is] the city of David.

The residents of Jebus said to David,“ You cannot invade this place!” But David captured the fortress of Zion( that is, the City of David).

The inhabitants of Jebus said to David,“ You will not come in here.” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David’s city.

If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.”Then the Philistine said,“ This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.” (niv)

David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces inward. (niv)

As it is written:“ See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.” (niv)

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved. (niv)

Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David. (niv)

David then took up residence in the fortress, and so it was called the City of David. (niv)

Indeed, of Zion it will be said,“ This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.” (niv)

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. (niv)

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. (niv)

David asked the men standing near him,“ What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (niv)

For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, (niv)

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. (niv)

The Lord has given full vent to his wrath; he has poured out his fierce anger. He kindled a fire in Zion that consumed her foundations.The kings of the earth did not believe, nor did any of the peoples of the world, that enemies and foes could enter the gates of Jerusalem. (niv)

Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done. (niv)

There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. (niv)

“ I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” (niv)

The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. (niv)

Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers,consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. (niv)

Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King. (niv)

Now King David was told,“ The Lord has blessed the household of Obed- Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed- Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. (niv)

He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite. (niv)

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, (niv)
