比拿雅來到耶和華的帳幕，對約押說：「王吩咐說，你出來吧！」他說：「我不出去，我要死在這裏。」比拿雅就去回覆王，說約押如此如此回答我。

約押作以色列全軍的元帥；耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄基利提人和比利提人；

於是，祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都下去使所羅門騎大衛王的騾子，將他送到基訓。

參孫跟他父母下亭拿去，到了亭拿的葡萄園，見有一隻少壯獅子向他吼叫。耶和華的靈大大感動參孫，他雖然手無器械，卻將獅子撕裂，如同撕裂山羊羔一樣。他行這事並沒有告訴父母。
