非利士人和以色列人打仗，以色列人敗了，各向各家奔逃，被殺的人甚多，以色列的步兵仆倒了三萬。神的約櫃被擄去，以利的兩個兒子何弗尼、非尼哈也都被殺了。

你曾求我說：給我立王和首領。現在你的王在哪裏呢？治理你的在哪裏呢？讓他在你所有的城中拯救你吧！我在怒氣中將王賜你，又在烈怒中將王廢去。
