1 Lord, you showed favor to your land;85:1 Ps 106:4

2You forgave your people’s guilt;

3You withdrew all your fury;

4Return to us, God of our salvation,

and abandon your displeasure with us.85:4 Ps 27:9; 79:9; 80:3,7

5Will you be angry with us forever?

Will you prolong your anger for all generations?85:5 Ps 74:1; 79:5; 80:4

6Will you not revive us again

so that your people may rejoice in you?85:6 Ps 71:20; 80:18; 149:2

7Show us your faithful love, Lord,

and give us your salvation.85:7 Ps 69:13; 119:41

8I will listen to what God will say;

surely the Lord will declare peace

to his people, his faithful ones,

and not let them go back to foolish ways.85:8 Hg 2:9; Zch 9:10

9His salvation is very near those who fear him,

so that glory may dwell in our land.85:9 Is 46:13; Zch 2:5; Jn 1:14

10Faithful love and truth will join together;

righteousness and peace will embrace.85:10 Ps 72:3; 89:14

11Truth will spring up from the earth,

and righteousness will look down from heaven.85:11 Is 45:8

12Also, the Lord will provide what is good,

and our land will yield its crops.85:12 Ps 65:12–13; 67:6; Ezk 34:27

13Righteousness will go before him

to prepare the way for his steps.85:13 Ps 89:14; Is 40:3,10; 58:8
