A Plea for Victory
A song. A psalm of David.
1My heart is confident, God;
I will sing; I will sing praises
2Wake up, harp and lyre!
3I will praise you, Lord, among the peoples;
4For your faithful love is higher than the heavens,
and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.108:4 Ps 36:5; 103:11; Lm 3:22–23
and let your glory be over the whole earth.108:1–5 Ps 57:7–11
6Save with your right hand and answer me
7God has spoken in his sanctuary:108:7 Or has promised by his holy nature
“I will celebrate!
I will apportion the Valley of Succoth.108:7 Gn 33:17
8Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine,
Judah is my scepter.108:8 Gn 49:10
I throw my sandal on Edom.108:9 2Sm 8:14
I shout in triumph over Philistia.”108:9 2Sm 8:1
10Who will bring me to the fortified city?

11God, haven’t you rejected us?
God, you do not march out with our armies.108:11 Ps 44:9
12Give us aid against the foe,
